Q: How often should I clean my tank?

A: Tanks should be drained of One Third of their Water on a Monthly basis using a Gravel Cleaner such as the one pictured below.

To Use a Gravel Cleaner of this Type :

1. Totally immerse gravel siphon cleaner in aquarium, filling unit with water.
2. To start siphon action, seal off the end of the flexible tubing with thumb while still holding underwater
3. Lift end of sealed flexible tubing into a suitable bucket or container below the aquarium water level. Remove finger and siphon action will start.
4. Gravel will rise up to 4 inches in the rigid tube isolating dirt and debris. Gravel will fall back into the aquarium leaving debris suspended in the removed water. Note that replacement water should be aged or conditioned for aquarium use.

Q: How often should I change my Filter Cartridge?

A: Filter Cartridges should be replaced every Three Months; as the Charcoal is no longer activated past that time period. Cartridges should also be rinsed once a month, when you clean your tank.
